After waiting for over four-long months, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu has finally broken his silence. Expounding the reason for delay in the implementation of free-loan waiver, Naidu blamed Reserve Bank of India.
“RBI is stopping the implementation of loan waiver scheme in Andhra Pradesh. With several other states putting pressure on Centre, Union government too dragging its feet over the issue. However, we’re not going to go back. We see too it that agricultural loans and Dwacra loans will be waived off as promised by the State government,” Chandrababu said.
Mr Naidu has expressed his dissatisfaction over Centre and RBI on the loan waiver issue. Chandrababu also promised farmers, women that “new” options are being considered. “Raising funds through Corporation model by various means is one such option,” Andhra Pradesh CM said.
By smartly making these statements, Naidu put onus on Centre and RBI. With this, Naidu threw Centre, PM Narendra Modi into a tight spot as it may afraid that it will be treated as anti-farmer government if they won’t act fast. Let’s see how Naidu’s statement works as a catalyst.
